5 Reasons We Cant Wait for Smallfoot

05 Oct 2018

Get yeti! Smallfoot hits UK cinemas on October 12 and features an all-star cast including Channing Tatum, Zendaya, James Corden and LeBron James, with music by Niall Horan. This is one yeti-filled, snowy, adventure you won’t want to miss!

To celebrate the upcoming release of this heart-warming, animated story, we’ve listed five things you absolutely need to know before it snowballs into cinemas worldwide this autumn.

1. Great cast

Smallfoot boasts an amazing, all-star cast featuring Channing Tatum (The LEGO Movie) lending his vocal talents as Migo the yeti, James Corden as ‘Smallfoot’ Percy, Zendaya as Meechee, LeBron James as Gwangi, Gina Rodriguez as Kolka, Yara Shahidi as Brenda, Ely Henry as Fleem and Jimmy Tatro as Thorp. The film's brilliantly talented cast are also joined by American rapper Common and renowned film star Danny DeVito.

2. Smallfoot flips the yeti myth on its head

If you thought yetis were to be feared, think again! Smallfoot seeks to turn the traditional 'scary yeti' storyline on its head, instead portraying the towering, long-haired, big blue-footed beings as friendly, unassuming village folk who live quietly among themselves and firmly refuse to believe that humans, – the 'smallfoot' – exist.

But one day, a friendly, big-hearted yeti named Migo comes across a smallfoot and is desperate to convince his fellow yetis that they're real. And so, in a bid to set the record straight, bright young Migo sets out on a journey of discovery that goes to show how friendly and fun-loving yetis can be, teaching us the importance of never judging a book (or in Smallfoot's case, a great big, hairy yeti!) by its cover (a thick, untamed mane of fur).

3. Big heart

Smallfoot is a heart-warming tale of friendship, courage and discovery unlike any other. Dispelling the myth that yetis are big, bad and ready to eat you, this original storyline tells us that no matter what you look like, where you’re from or your shoe size, you're never too big to have a heart bursting with kindness and love.

A brilliantly crafted, original tale for all ages, Smallfoot will leave you grinning from ear-to-ear and feeling warm and fuzzy inside as you head home from the cinema this autumn.

4. Friendship

Sometimes the most unlikely friendships are the best ones; sometimes it takes a lot of belief and courage to carve them. In this unique tale, courageous Migo is on a mission to prove to everyone back in the village that the ‘smallfoot’ really does exist. On his journey he makes friendships with everyone he meets along the way, regardless of their differences.

5. Niall Horan features on Smallfoot's soundtrack

Featuring an original, feel-good soundtrack showcasing the unmistakable vocals of Niall Horan on the single Finally Free, Smallfoot will have you bobbing along in your seat as you watch the wonderful tale unfold.
