Ever wondered whether you could see your reflection in the shiny armor of the Batmobile? Ever mused over just how big its tyres are? Well this weekend is your chance to find out, as the Batmobile lands in London.
Fresh from filming Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice the iconic Batmobile will be parked up in the lobby of Leicester Square’s Odeon cinema from Friday 19th through to Sunday 21st February. As one of only three Batmobiles built for the new film, London fans can get as close as Ben Affleck did to this state-of-the-art vehicle.
A star in its own right, the Batmobile was crafted using pioneering technologies at Wayne Enterprises and then stealthily repurposed by Bruce Wayne and Alfred. Armed with the ultimate weaponry and defenses, this car has seen some serious action. Famed for giving Batman tactical advantages over his many adversaries throughout Gotham City and beyond, seeing it on the streets of London is not to be missed.
With its arresting presence and superhero status, the Batmobile certainly looks as good in the flesh as it does on screen. But what do we really know about this incredible vehicle?
|Engine||LS3 Chevrolet V8|
With its huge engine and mind-boggling horsepower, the Batmobile achieves 0 – 60mph in 5.5 seconds. Delivering Batman to the scenes of crime in the blink of an eye, this car both looks sharp and moves fast.
|Internal roll cage||Custom built|
|Brakes||Brembo Racing Brakes|
|Fire protection||Built in semi-automatic fire extinguisher system|
With the villains of the world out to get him, Batman needs all the safety features he can get. We can only hope he wears his seatbelt too.
