The Who’s Who of Justice League

14 Nov 2017

Since Batman and Superman fought it out in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, audiences have been hotly anticipating the latest instalment in the DC universe. Set for release on November 17, Justice League brings our favourite superheroes back to the big screen, this time taking on Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons in a bid to save the world. In preparation for the big release, we’re going inside this iconic crew with the who’s who of the Justice League…

Batman (Ben Affleck)

Batman – AKA billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne – is no stranger to the big screen. With Ben Affleck behind the suit we see a much more grizzled, matured version of the character, someone that instigates the formation of the League.

Jaded though he might be, after battling Superman and witnessing his act of selflessness in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Batman’s faith is restored in humanity. He’s the one that begins to build a league of superheroes to save the world, in turn becoming their tour-de-force leader.

Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot)

With powers from the Gods and training by Themyscira’s warrior women, Wonder Woman is about as fierce a fighter as you can get.

When Batman needs an ally in the war against Steppenwolf, it’s Wonder Woman he turns to. She’s strong, fearless, and, with her Lasso of Truth and iconic God Killer sword, she’s practically unstoppable in battle.

Aquaman (Jason Momoa)

With the power to telepathically control water and communicate with aquatic life, Aquaman is sworn to protect the underwater world – though his human upbringing means he’s also loyal to life above the surface.

Aquaman was born to royalty from the city of Atlantis and raised as Arthur Curry, son of a lighthouse keeper. He’s most often seen with his trident and can survive both in the greatest depths of the sea and on land, meaning there are very few places his enemies can hide. His specialist skillset certainly brings something different to the team.

Flash (Ezra Miller)

The fastest man on earth, Flash ticks the Justice League’s speed box, as seen on that reel of secret footage held by Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Flash was originally born Barry Allen, a geeky scientist renowned for his tardiness. But that all changed when a bolt of lightning struck him and he was effectively injected with superhuman speed. Nothing erases his nerdiness though, and with the Justice League, he not only finds himself a set of allies, but friends as well.

Cyborg (Ray Fisher)

Like his name suggests, Cyborg is half human, half machine. Once a promising athlete, Victor Stone suffered a devastating accident, and as a result his father was forced to replace portions of his son’s body with mechanical parts that ultimately saved his life.

In turn, these metal upgrades have given him strength, endurance, speed and the ability to fly. He also has an electronic eye that, among other things, can produce a laser. He’s definitely someone to have on your side.
