Smallville Season 7

This reinterpretation of the enduring Superman mythology and its classic characters blends realism and adventure into an exciting action series. The seventh season of Smallville brings exciting guest stars from Superman history, including Dean Cain (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman) and Helen Slater (Supergirl), plus storylines of Krypton and the El family, as Clark discovers more about his home planet, who his parents were, what his future holds and why he was sent to Earth.

But the biggest trial for Clark may come in the form of his 19-year-old Kryptonian cousin, Kara. Kara is fascinated with Earth's culture and has difficulty remembering to hide her powers from the world. Her youthful abandon lands her in many precarious situations and puts her on Lex's radar.

Episode guide

  1. 01 - Bizarro

When Clark Kent (series star TOM WELLING) confronts Bizarro, the last wraith from the Phantom Zone, the ensuing fight causes the dam to break, unleashing a torrent of water. Having just been arrested for Lana Lang's (series star KRISTIN KREUK) murder, Lex Luthor (series star MICHAEL ROSENBAUM) is submerged under water in a patrol car until a mysterious young woman saves him. Lois (series star ERICA DURANCE) manages to pull Chloe (series star ALLISON MACK) to safety, but Chloe is pronounced dead at the hospital. And the woman who saved Lex reappears at the Kent farm. Series star AARON ASHMORE appears as Jimmy Olsen, and series star JOHN GLOVER appears as Lionel Luthor.

  2. 02 - Kara

Clark and Lois discover a spaceship belonging to Kara (recurring guest star LAURA VANDERVOORT), the mysterious young woman who recently saved Lex. But before Clark and Lois can open it, Kara appears and knocks Lois unconscious. Clark is shocked when Kara tells him she is there to protect baby Kal-El. Kara left Krypton as a teenager, simultaneously with the infant Clark, and has unknowingly been in suspended animation ever since crash-landing in the dam, so she is now younger than him. Despite Kara's arrival, a despondent Clark decides that, without Lana, there is nothing keeping him in Smallville, so he heads to the Fortress of Solitude to begin his training. However, Jor-El tells him that Kara's father, Jor-El's brother, was evil, and Kara must be watched closely. Clark must stay in Smallville to find out why she came to Earth. Meanwhile, Lex makes a stunning discovery regarding Lana and Project 33.1.

  3. 03 - Fierce

Although Kara (recurring guest star LAURA VANDERVOORT) desperately wants to make friends and fit in on Earth, Clark tells her to keep a low profile until she can get her powers under control. Despite Clark's warnings, Kara signs up for the Miss Sweet Corn beauty pageant and meets the competition: Tyler ("America's Next Top Model" winner EVA MARCILLE), Carly (ELISA KING) and Tempest (CHRISTINE CHATELAIN), three meteor-infected vixens who plan to use their powers to steal a treasure map to a hidden Smallville time capsule. After Tyler witnesses Kara using her powers, the girls pretend to be Kara's friends, but they are really planning to use her for their devious scheme.

  4. 04 - Cure

Chloe learns that a doctor, Dr. Curtis Knox (DEAN CAIN - Superman on "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman"), has been treating meteor-infected people and eliminating their abilities. Desperate to get rid of her power, Chloe makes an appointment to see Knox, unaware that he has a nefarious plan to kill his patients and harvest their organs. Meanwhile, Kara (recurring guest star LAURA VANDERVOORT) cons Jimmy into helping her locate her crystal and, after discovering its whereabouts, defies Clark's order to stay on the farm. And Lana sets up secret surveillance of Lex.

  5. 05 - Action

The residents of Smallville are thrilled when Warrior Angel, a movie based on the comic book, begins shooting in town. However, after the lead actress, Rachel Davenport (CHRISTINA MILIAN), drives off in a stunt car with cut brakes, Clark must step in to stop the runaway car. Unfortunately, an obsessed fan witnesses this heroic act and decides that since Clark is a real-life superhero, his girlfriend, Lana, must be eliminated so Clark can fulfill his destiny. Meanwhile, Lex discovers Lionel at a remote cabin.

  6. 06 - Lara

Kara (recurring guest star LAURA VANDERVOORT) travels to Washington to search for the crystal, but she is captured while breaking into a laboratory and sedated with a Kryptonite-infused truth serum. The dose causes her to relive a prior trip to Earth when she followed Clark's biological mother, Lara (recurring guest star HELEN SLATER - "Supergirl"), to the Kent farm. Clark arrives in time to save Kara but, after searing the machine with heat vision, he also falls victim to the serum and sees his mother through Kara's memories.

  7. 07 - Wrath

Kryptonite and high voltage mix during a lightning storm, causing Lana to absorb Clark's abilities. Using her newfound superpowers, she breaks into Lex's safe and steals incriminating evidence, which she delivers to Lois and Daily Planet editor Grant (recurring guest star MICHAEL CASSIDY), demanding they run a story exposing Lex's secrets. After Grant refuses to use stolen material, Lana decides to take care of Lex herself. When Clark tries to stop Lana from killing Lex, a super battle ensues.

  8. 08 - Blue

After hearing the voice of his biological mother, Lara (recurring guest star HELEN SLATER), calling for help from Kara's (recurring guest star LAURA VANDERVOORT) crystal, Clark releases Lara, despite his Kryptonian father's warnings. As Lara and Clark reunite, she gives him a ring of blue Kryptonite. But when Clark puts it on, he realizes that Zor-El (recurring guest star CHRISTOPHER HEYERDAHL) has tricked him -- blue Kryptonite strips Clark of his powers. Now, Zor-El can take control of the Fortress of Solitude. Meanwhile, Chloe and Lex each discover that Lois and Grant (recurring guest star MICHAEL CASSIDY) have been dating and warn them to stop.

  9. 09 - Gemini

Clark returns to Smallville from the Fortress and tells Lana that Kara (recurring guest star LAURA VANDERVOORT) is gone. Clark tells Lana they should team up to bring Lex down, so she gives him all the information she’s gathered so far, including a report on a man named Adrian (guest star Tim Guinee -- "Ghost Whisperer," "Without a Trace," "Broken English"), who was infected with an alien substance. Adrian secretly plants a bomb on Chloe and tells Lois if she doesn’t get Lex to admit the truth about his experiments with 33.1, he will detonate the bomb. Chloe, thinking she is about to die, confesses to Jimmy (Aaron Ashmore) that she is a meteor freak.

  10. 10 - Persona

While Clark is frozen in the Fortress, Bizarro takes over his life with Lana. Unaware that she is with Bizarro, Lana enjoys this “new Clark,” and shares information she has gathered on a serial killer who is draining his victims of all trace minerals. The two conclude it must be Brainiac (recurring guest star JAMES MARSTERS) and Bizarro sets off to find him. Lex is stunned at Lionel's reaction after Grant (recurring guest star MICHAEL CASSIDY), reveals he is a clone of Julian. MARC McCLUR (who played Jimmy Olsen in the "Superman" films) guest stars as Dax-Ur.

  11. 11 - Siren

While secretly working for Oliver (recurring guest star JUSTIN HARTLEY), Chloe intercepts one of Lex's project files, but she is attacked by the Black Canary (guest star ALAINA HUFFMAN - "Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service," Painkiller Jane," "The O.C."), a mystery woman with a subsonic cry. Dinah Lance, Black Canary’s alter ego, is a conservative talk show host who is working at the Daily Planet and clashes with Lois. Lex convinces the Black Canary that the Green Arrow and his team are terrorists so she launches an attack on the Green Arrow and Clark. Meanwhile, Lois discovers Oliver's secret.

  12. 12 - Fracture

Lois follows Lex to Detroit and discovers he has found Kara, who has amnesia. However, Finley (guest star COREY SEVIER - "House of Fears," "North Shore"), a busboy who has become obsessed with Kara, fears Lex will take her away, so he shoots Lex and holds Kara and Lois captive. After finding Lex's comatose body, Chloe offers to heal him, but Clark refuses to let her.

  13. 13 - Hero

Kara and Jimmy attend a ONE REPUBLIC concert, and it turns out that one of the roadies is former Smallville resident Pete Ross (recurring guest star SAM JONES III - "ER"). Pete unwittingly chews some kryptonite-laced gum and develops super powers. Clark and Chloe are thrilled to meet up with their old friend but warn him against using his powers in public. When Lex discovers Pete's powers, he threatens to reveal Chloe is a meteor freak if Pete doesn't help him break into Lionel's safe.

  14. 14 - Traveler

Lionel arranges to have Clark kidnapped and held in a kryptonite-lined cell at a LuthorCorp facility. After Chloe and Lana find a military electric probe at the farm, they confront Lionel, who throws suspicion onto Lex. Chloe and Lana take Kara to the Fortress and beg Jor-El to restore Kara's memory, as she is the only one who can save Clark.

  15. 15 - Veritas

Kara decides to teach Clark how to fly in order to strengthen his chances against Brainiac (recurring guest star JAMES MARSTERS), but Brainiac appears to have the upper hand against the super cousins. And some of Clark's loved ones are caught in the crossfire.

  16. 16 - Descent

The day arrives that Clark and Lex became mortal enemies. The secret of Veritas leads Lex in a dangerous direction that will put Clark and Lex in each other's crosshairs. There is a major power struggle, and one character dies.

  17. 17 - Sleeper

Clark desperately searches for Kara (recurring guest star LAURA VANDERVOORT) and Brainiac (recurring guest star JAMES MARSTERS), as Brainiac is the only one who can reverse Lana's condition. Clark asks Chloe to check any large power surges in the area, so she breaks into several government computers, setting off alarms. Jimmy is caught between the Department of Security -- who threatens him with jail time unless he helps them arrest Chloe -- and Lex, who offers to help clear Chloe if Jimmy agrees to be in his debt.

  18. 18 - Apocalypse

Clark discovers that Kara (recurring guest star LAURA VANDERVOORT) sent messages from Krypton in the past that indicate that Brainiac (recurring guest star JAMES MARSTERS) wants to kill baby Kal-El so Clark will not exist in the future. Clark is torn; he thinks the world might be better off if he had never arrived in Smallville. Jor-El arranges for him to see what life would have been like if Clark hadn’t existed: Lex is president of the United States, Kara is raised by the Luthors, Lana is happily married, Chloe and Lois are ace reporters and more.

  19. 19 - Quest

A cloaked stranger who carves Kryptonian symbols into his chest -- a message for Clark -- attacks Lex. Chloe and Clark investigate and discover one member of the Veritas clan has survived and is hiding in a church. Clark and Lex race to be the first to find this mysterious Veritas member, who holds the key to Clark's survival.

  20. 20 - Arctic

Kara (recurring guest star LAURA VANDERVOORT) tells Lex he is destined to defeat the Traveler and offers to take him to the Fortress to learn how. Chloe is arrested by the Department of Domestic Security and Lana awakens from her comatose state. Meanwhile, in an epic turn of events, Clark and Lex face off in the Fortress, and Lex learns Clark's secret.
